Swedish Design meets Africa

Designer sneakers are increasingly popular among young adults and the beautiful country known as Sweden grants us with yet another beautifully designed shoe.

However, the Scandinavian brand Eytys travels continents for their new collection. This resulted in bold and striking patterns as Eytys collaborated with Esther Mahlangu. She combines traditional art forms with contemporary art in order to create the collection, which is known as Doja Mahlangu.

It wonderfully reflects globalisation as it is a true merge of both Scandinavian and African culture. But the outstanding design traveled even further. Centre Pompidou in Paris exhibited the sneaker as a true art piece.

For those of you who are really into sneakers, the Doja Mahlangu collection is purchasable on Eytys’ website. With a price tag ranging from 100 to 230, it actually is quite affordable knowing that you’re walking around on a striking and gorgeous art piece.
